- Competitions are open to Welsh learners over 16 years of age, except for competition 100 and 112
- The levels are divided as follows:
- Entry (Mynediad): up to 120 contact hours
- Foundation (Sylfaen): up to 240 contact hours
- Intermediate (Canolradd): up to 360 contact hours
- Open (Agored): competitions open to anyone who has learnt Welsh as an adult up to proficiency classes. They are also open to those who are or have studied Welsh as a second language at secondary school. The competitions are not open to those who have completed a degree in Welsh or any degree completed wholly or partly through the medium of Welsh, or for those who have worked as a Welsh language tutor for more than 2 years.
- Copyright It is the responsibility of choirs, parties, groups or individuals to obtain the copyright of any selfselection pieces. This must be stated on the competition form. Further guidance and instructions can be found in the ‘Competition’ section of the Eisteddfod website. Please upload everything by 9 June 2023.
- Age The competitor must be within the competition’s age range on 31 August 2023.
- Copies It is illegal to make your own additional copies of music, poetry or any published work. NB You should ensure that you have read the General Rules and Conditions before competing.
